The Objective
The objective was to develop a cohesive brand and a suite of communication channels for the Coalition for Engaged Education, a California-based organization dedicated to supporting and creating transformative opportunities for vulnerable and justice-involved youth. The challenge lay in designing a visual language that resonated simultaneously with two distinct audiences: youth participants seeking a path to empowerment and corporate partners or donors providing the essential funding for educational equity.
The Design Process & Delivery
I led the expansion of a brand system that prioritized identity, accessibility, and institutional urgency.
Inclusive Visual Identity: I developed a vibrant yet structured visual language that celebrated community identity without sacrificing professional credibility. This balance was essential for securing high-level corporate partnerships.
Scalable Communication Framework: I created a Scalable Design System adaptable to various marketing formats. This framework empowered the organization to maintain a consistent brand voice across all touchpoints, even with limited internal resources.
Human-Centred Narrative: By incorporating the notion of resilience through an expressive typographic poem, we ensured that every communication piece felt empowering and remained deeply accessible to the youth it served.
The Outcome
The strategic rebranding and communication suite significantly elevated the organization’s visibility within the California non-profit landscape and the broader educational sector. This professionalized presence directly contributed to successful funding drives and expanded program enrolment, effectively bridging the gap between community needs and corporate investment.
