The Objective: Artscape needed a visual identity and wayfinding system for a landmark multi-use community hub built inside decommissioned TTC maintenance barns. The identity had to honour the building's industrial heritage while serving the diverse, modern functions of the space. I led the design, taking a systemic approach to create an identity flexible enough to house multiple sub-brands.

The Design Process & Delivery: I developed the wordmark and symbol from the building's own history — drawing on original architectural blueprints of the five barns and old streetcar signage preserved in the facility. The wayfinding system was designed to integrate with the architecture, prioritizing accessibility and clear navigation for high-traffic public use.

The Outcome: The result was a landmark brand identity rooted in the building's past — one that helped unify a complex community space and became a cornerstone of the neighbourhood's revitalization. Recipient of the Congress for the New Urbanism Charter Award.
